MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Overview:

The Mechanical Engineering Department has standing as one of the strongest pillar of this institution since 1984. All staff members in the Mechanical Engineering Department are well qualified with postgraduate qualification, specialized in the area of Thermal Engineering, Heat Power Engineering, Combustion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering and Mechatronics. Mechanical Engineering Department has got dedicated staff members who are putting maximum effort to make the students achieve good results. Individual attention is given to each student. Every 15 students are provided with one proctor staff member as care taker. Class Committee meetings with students participation are held in regular interval to get students feedback. Faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department have conducted parents meeting of their proctor students. They give extra coaching and counselling to improve the students performance in their academic as well as extracurricular activities.

Course Offered:

  • M.E           Mechatronics

                                                Annual intake : 18

Vision:

“To prepare its graduate for a rapidly varying technological field. The faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department strive to educate and train the students in a technically sound and challenging manner in order to achieve, to prepare graduates to pursue professional careers, to ensure that graduates are proficient and competent, to produce that graduates who will pursue lifelong learning, to provide training to solve in a new dimension relevant to the Mechanical Engineering field.

Curriculum Importance:

Mechanical is one of the oldest field of engineering branches. Mechanical engineering students are required obtain adequate knowledge to enable them to work professionally in both thermal and mechanical systems areas. This is to ensure a minimum level of competence among graduating, engineers and to inspire confidence in the engineering profession as a whole. The fundamental subjects of Mechanical Engineering include engineering mechanics, fluid dynamics & machineries, thermal engineering, heat transfer, thermodynamics, machining processes, material technology, metrology & measurements, computational methods, design of machines, dynamics & control, power plant engineering, strength of materials etc. with related lab works. In addition to the core mechanical engineering curriculum, the department offers more specialized programs and classes, such as mechatronics, special materials, automobile engineering, unconventional machining and management topics. The students are trained to develop their skills in operating independent project works also. Since the application of Mechanical Engineering is wide, the job opportunities are also wide in comparison to other branches. Our students are found to get attractive placements within and outside India.
